This new pavilion at the 2013 ETA Annual Meeting & Expo is designed for small companies looking to bring their innovative new electronic payments technology product or service to market. The Payments Next Zone will be the premier destination at the show where media, venture investors and potential industry partners can meet with startups to explore new ideas and innovations to bring innovative financial services to market.
Two programs – the Exhibit Scholarship and the Innovation Award – are designed to help bring new electronic payments products / services to market to the benefit of unserved / underserved communities worldwide.
I. Exhibit Scholarship
Companies meeting the entry criteria for exhibit space in the Payments Next Zone, and that demonstrate the need for financial assistance for such exhibit space, may submit an application for a Payments Next Zone Exhibit Scholarship.
Exhibit Scholarship Winners
The Judging Panel will select a maximum of six (6) applicants to be Exhibit Scholarship winners. Each Exhibit Scholarship winner will receive a free exhibition package consisting of a 10′ x 10′ booth space, carpet, one 6′ draped table, two chairs and a wastebasket. If desired, electrical, extra lighting, wired Internet and any additional furniture must be purchased separately by the exhibitor. Value (if purchased by exhibitor): $5400.
Judging Panel
The Judging Panel that will select the Exhibit Scholarship winners shall consist of: two journalists representing financial / technology media publications, two representatives from ETA’s Technology Committee, one representative from Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and one representative from ETA.
Entry Criteria
To be selected by the Judging Panel as an Exhibit Scholarship winner in the Payments Next Zone, companies must meet all of the following criteria:
- Financial need for scholarship support in order to be able to exhibit product / service at the Payments Next Zone.
- The technology displayed must be an electronic payments product or service.
- Entries that show a technology that can be realized commercially within one year, but is not currently available are preferred, but judges will consider already deployed technologies on a case-by-case basis.
- Entries must be innovative with the potential to make a profound impact on the global market to provide financial services to unserved / underserved constituencies.
- The technology must be demonstrated live at the 2013 ETA Annual Meeting & Expo on April 30, 2013, as a prototype or software mockup (no paper / concept exhibits).
- Must be a first-time exhibitor at the 2013 ETA Annual Meeting & Expo.

II. E-Pay Innovation Award
Do you have a product that has the potential to make a profound impact on the global market by delivering financial services to unserved / underserved individuals or communities? Consider entering to win the ETA E-Pay Innovation Award.
Companies exhibiting at the 2013 ETA Annual Meeting & Expo are eligible to win the E-Pay Innovation Award. The selection of the E-Pay Innovation Award will be based on live judging of the exhibits on display at the 2013 ETA Annual Meeting & Expo. One awardee will be selected by the Judging Panel from among all exhibitors.
Decision criteria includes:
- The technology must be demonstrated live at the 2013 ETA Annual Meeting & Expo on April 30, 2013, as a prototype or software mockup (no paper / concept exhibits).
- The technology displayed must be an electronic payments product or service.
- Entries that show a technology that can be realized commercially within one year, but is not currently available are preferred, but judges will consider already deployed technologies on a case-by-case basis.
- Entries must be innovative with the potential to make a profound impact on the global market to provide financial services to unserved / underserved individuals or communities.
- Clarity of vision and market opportunity for providing electronic payments product / service.
- Innovation in product / service offering.

Two options:

For companies already exhibiting at ETA and who want to showcase their mobile applications, a 10% reduction will be offered.
- Kiosk: For those companies not requiring a full 10′ x 10′ booth. Kiosk consists of one counter and a 3′ x 8′ sign with your company / product information. $2000 for ETA Member companies; $3500 for Non-Member companies.
